Speaking at an interaction programme organised at the Reporters' Club in the capital this afternoon, Pokharel expressed confidence that the technical budget the government is planning to come up with by addressing as well as encompassing important issues may also facilitate in forging consensus among the political parties.

The Planning Commission vice chairman said that the technical budget will come up with ambitious development projects while also giving preference to completing the existing development projects on time. He further informed that the technical budget will also focus on employment generation to end rising unemployment in the country, tourism development, modernisation of agriculture sector including hydro power development and building new physical infrastructures.

He argued that a caretaker government can also come up with a full fledged budget and that the government that replaces it later can simply amend those portion of the budget with which it differs.

Stating that the budget was being brought for the good of the country, he urged all the parties not to give rise to unnecessary debate and dispute over the issue that will only create further hurdles in declaring the budget. nepalnews.com
