CAN Info Tech 2012 begins

The 18th edition of “CAN Info Tech 2012”, one of the biggest ICT fair of the country began in Kathmandu from Thursday.

Minister for Science and Technology Kalpana Dhamala (L) in the inaugural ceremony of CAN... Organised by Computer Association of Nepal (CAN), the ICT fair aims to showcase and launch new ICT products in the country.

The CAN informed that representatives of national and international companies exhibiting various new and unique technologies are participating in the six day event organised at Exhibition Hall, Bhrikutimandap.

The event is one of the biggest IT shows ever held in Nepal, which is having participants from the total of 107 companies, said CAN.

There are some 200 stalls featuring companies related to hardware and maintenance (34 percent), power solutions (12 percent), mobile accessories (8 percent), dealer and distributor (9 percent), ISP (8 percent), printing services (3 percent), telecommunication (1 percent), training and colleges (7 percent), software and solution (13 percent) and others (5 percent), informed the organiser.

The organiser also informed that the various stalls from national and international companies have been offering attractive packages and schemes at reasonable prices on their products during the event.

Similarly, CAN and Internet Society Nepal Chapter (ISOC Nepal) have also jointly organised 12th edition of “ICT Conference 2012” with the theme “the Internet is for everyone” on the sideline of the Info-Tech from January 29-30 at Hotel De I’Annapurna in the capital.

During the event, various national and international experts are set to present their papers on infrastructure, e-enable services and applications, internet content, security, law and policy. nepalnews.com
