Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued to decline by 2.61 points to close at 312.10 points over last week while it had declined by 0.09 points over the previous week.

Over a week from February 5 to 9, NEPSE traded with 118 companies registering Rs. 106.2 million through 5784 transactions from the five trading days while it had 155 companies registering Rs. 105.2 million through 5935 transactions from the four trading days the previous week.

Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 72 million which is 66.10 percent of the total turnover.

As per the sub-indices of all the groups, all the groups are in the negative growth. Commercial banks, manufacturing group, hotel, hydropower, insurance, finance and development banks groups are in the negative growth by 1.74 points, 31.37 points, 0.76 points, 12.33 points, 5.01 points, 2.01 points and 2.49 points, respectively.

The sensitive index which measures Group A companies has also declined by 0.54 points to close at 77.48 points.

Bank of Kathmandu (Rs. 12.03 million), Nepal SBI Bank (Rs.11.82 million), Chilime Hydropower Company (Rs. 7.07 million), Laxmi Bank (Rs. 6.30 million), and Nepal Telecom (Rs. 4.75 million) stood at the top five companies to make the highest amount of turnover last week. nepalnews.com
