Nepali business delegation urges Thai govt reps to boost bilateral trade

A 70-member delegation of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) met Thai Ministers and Thai business community and discussed ways to boost business between the two countries during their visit to Thailand recently.

The Nepali delegation led by FNCCI President Suraj Vaidya had left the for Thailand on February 13 at the initiative of Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu.

The delegation also met Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Sports Chumpol Silapa-archa, Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul and Thai Minister of Commerce Boonsong Terryyapiron.

During the meetings, the Nepali delegation urged the Thai officials to issue multiple visas to Nepali businessmen. The meetings also dwelt on cooperation between the two nations in various fields especially tourism and export to Thailand.

In response, the Thai ministers said they were positive about extending support for promotion of tourism and also assured to look into the issues seriously including the possibility of reducing duty on Nepali products with Ministry of Finance. nepalnews.com
