NEPSE continues bullish trend

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued upward trend witnessing an increase by 4.90 points to settle at 317.36 points last week while it had increased by 0.73 points to close at 312.59 points over the previous week.

Last week, NEPSE traded with 116 companies registering Rs. 114.62 million through 5265 transactions from five trading days (Sunday to Thursday) while it had traded with 105 companies registering Rs. 36.92 million through 2318 transactions from the two trading days (Sunday to Thursday) the previous week.

Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 77.6 million which is 67.73 percent of the total turnover.

As per the sub-indices of all the groups, except hydropower, finance and development banks, all the groups witnessed positive growth.

Commercial banks, manufacturing group, hotel, trading group, and insurance witnessed positive growth by 6.84 points, 10.27 points, 3.31 points, 9.40 points, 5.91 points and 2.22 points, respectively, while hydropower, finance and development banks witnessed negative growth by 20.70 points,
0.06 points and 0.13 points, respectively over last week.

Everest Bank (Rs. 29.55 million), Bank of Kathmandu (Rs. 15.33 million), Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (Rs.5.09 million) Nepal Telecom (Rs. 4.94 million), and Shikhar Insurance Company (Rs. 4.49million) were the top five companies to register the highest amount of turnover last week. nepalnews.com
