The 23rd National Industrial Exhibition kicked off at Bhrikuti Mandap exhibition hall in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai observing the stalls in the 23rd...The Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee has organised the event with the objectives of exposing the small and cottage entrepreneurs at the national level, to expand and promote market for goods produced by the small and cottage industries within and outside the country and to familiarise the consumers about the Nepali industrial products.

Inaugurating the five-day event, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said that national policy is the  must for the development of small and cottage industries.

Saying that concluding peace and constitution drafting is the main priority of the government at present, PM Bhattarai said that government will keep development of economic sector in high priority after the conclusion of peace and constitution drafting process.

The PM also opined that the traditional agriculture production should be uplifted for industrialisation.

Bamboo and rattan furniture, traditional Dhaka handloom products, fabrics made of natural fibres, leather goods, handicraft items, food, organic tea and coffee, hand-made paper and woolen apparels, among other products have been showcased in the exhibition.
