The 15th edition of National Flora Expo 2012 kicked off at the Bhrikuti Mandap in the capital onThursday.

Vice President Paramananda Jha observing the flower stalls after inaugurating the Floriculture Exhibition at Bhrikuti...Inaugurating the expo, Vice-president Paramananda Jha urged the floriculture entrepreneurs to boost the floriculture industry to avoid shortage of flowers in the main festival seasons.

Saying that the country has also improved its flower production and even export to other countries, Jha also praised the effort of entrepreneurs in the business for the development of the industry.

Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN) is organising the event. The four-day event features 60 stalls.

More than 40,000 people are employed directly or indirectly in some 634 floriculture farms across the country.

Mobile Expo starts

Meanwhile, the Mobile Expo 2012 also kicked off here at the Bhrikuti Mandap garden from today.

Mobile Traders Association of Nepal is organising the expo with an aim of boosting the market of especially ANROID, SMART, iPHONE among other technologies which are already in the international market.

The five-day expo is featuring some 68 stalls exhibiting latest mobile sets of various companies along with mobile repair centers disseminating information on the mobile technology and its software, according to a press statement issued by Mobile Expo Committee. nepalnews.com
