Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 3.09 points to settle at 302.44 points during the five trading days from Sunday to Thursday last week. The market had opened with 299.35 points on Sunday.

As per the sub-indices of all the groups, commercial banks, manufacturing group, hotel, other, hydropower, and insurance groups witnessed positive growth by 5.04 points, 0.93 points, 3.69 points, 2.35 points, 4.12 points and 1.99 points, respectively, while trading, finance, and development banks are in the negative territory by 11.82 points, 0.83 points, and 2.02 points, respectively.

Over the week, NEPSE traded with 125 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 141.4 million through 4638 transactions while it had 125 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 137.6 million through 5275 transactions the previous week.

Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 48 million which is 33.94 percent of the total turnover.

Nepal Investment Bank (Rs. 52.14 million), Everest Bank (Rs. 11.66 million), Prime Commercial Bank (Rs. 8.20 million), Prabhu Finance (Rs. 5.11 million), and Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (Rs. 4.57 million) were the top five companies to register the highest transaction last week. nepalnews.com
