Khukuri Beer-- a Nepalese lager beer manufactured in the UK – has been awarded the Gold quality award for the year 2012 by the Monde Selection, the world quality award governing body. Monde Selection’s, founded in 1961, tests consumer products and grant them a bronze, silver or gold quality award. This quality label, awarded by a totally independent professional jury, offers the consumer and producers numerous advantages, said a press release issued by the UK-based company.
Being brewed in the UK since 2003, Khukuri Beer targets Nepalese and Indian restaurants as well as the Non-Resident Nepalese market. The beer is a tribute to the unique friendship between the Nepalese and British people epitomised by the noble Gurkha Regiment of the British Army. The Khukuri beer is available in more than one hundred restaurants within the UK and is also extended to the market in Finland and is looking to expand to more European countries and the USA in near future.
The Khukuri beer was one of the active promoters of the London Mela, Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and the UK Trade Mission to Nepal which visited Kathmandu last year.
