Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has plunged by nearly 19 points in a single day on Tuesday.

The circuit breaker was imposed on Tuesday after index plunged by over 5 percent. The circuit breaker had also been imposed in first two trading days Sunday and Monday as index had surged by over 5 percent.

The circuit breaker is imposed to maintain the fluctuation of the index.

On Tuesday, the first circuit breaker was announced as the index surged by over 4 percent reaching 372 points in the second trading hours and the trading was halted for 30 minutes.

However, the index later plunged by over 5 percent to 336.29 points and circuit breaker was announced for the rest of the day.

The NEPSE index has surged by 17.41 points on Sunday and 17.16 points to close at 354.51 points on Monday. nepalnews.com
