NEPSE sees double digit rise

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has soared by nearly 20 points on Tuesday.

Today, as the index increased by over 5 percent, circuit breaker was announced for the rest of the day. The circuit breaker is imposed to maintain the fluctuation of the index.

The index increased by 19.25 points to 388.34 points while the index had settled at 354.78 points on Thursday last week.

As per the sub-indices, banking witnessed a positive growth by 28.28 points, development bank by 3.54 points, hydropower by 31.44 points, finance by 1.43 points, insurance by 5.67 points and other group by 11.75 points while trading group has plunged by 7.18 points.

NEPSE traded with 68 companies registering the turnover of over Rs. 53.6 million through 606 transactions today.

The secondary financial market has witnessed positive growth with the beginning of Nepali New Year following the breakthrough in the peace process. Nepalnews.com
