India-Nepal Crafts Festival from Friday

The South India Foundation (SAF), voluntary development organisation, is set to organise “India-Nepal Crafts Festival” with an aim of boosting relationship between the two countries through the means of arts and crafts here at Nepal Academy in the capital from April 27 to May 2, 2012.

President Ram Baran Yadav is set to inaugurate the festival that is organised with the collaboration of Embassy of India and Nepal Tourism Board.

The festival will bring together various craftsmen and artisans along with their products from various parts of Nepal and India, said the organiser, adding that the festival will have 25 stalls from Indian state of Goa alone while other participants will be from Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Orisha, Punjab, and Bengal.

Similarly, there will be some 20 stalls from Nepal under the leadership of the Federation of the Nepalese Handicrafts Association.

SAF is a voluntary development organisation formed in 1991 to strengthen people to people contact in South Asia. nepalnews.com
