NEPSE index continue to register double digit growth

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued its double digit growth for the third consecutive week this year. NEPSE index witnessed a growth by 56.37 points to settle at 425.47 on Thursday compared to the opening at 369.10 points on Sunday last week.

Last week, NEPSE traded with 106 companies registering the transaction of over Rs. 487.14 million through 6523 transactions while it had traded with 115 companies registering over Rs. 359.7 million through 6222 transactions the previous week.

Of the total transaction amount, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 365.8 million which is 75.10 percent of the total turnover.

As per the sub-indices of all the groups, except trading group which was in the negative (-5.83 points) all the groups witnessed positive growth - commercial bank increased by 75.68 points, other group increased by 64.60 points, hydropower by 72.08 points, insurance by 20.27 points, finance by 3.57 points and development bank by 14.84 points.

However, manufacturing and hotel group remained unchanged at 662.48 points and 436.94 points, respectively.

Bank of Kathmandu (Rs. 100.79 million), Laxmi Bank (Rs. 37.07 million), Everest Bank (Rs. 29.30 million), Everest Bank (Rs. 29.30 million), Standard Chartered bank (Rs. 24.35 million) and NIC Bank (Rs. 24.02 million) were the top five companies to register the highest transaction last week. nepalnews.com
