NEPSE index plunges for second consecutive day

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has plunged by 18.26 points to settle at 404.73 points in the second day of its trading day on Monday.

The index had declined by 2.47 points on Sunday after witnessing a stunning growth of 56.37 point over last week.

Circuit breaker had to be imposed twice today because of the steep decline. The first circuit breaker was announced for 15 minutes at 12:51:24 after the index has plunged by 3 percent. Similarly, the index witnessed continues plunged by 4 percent the operation was suspended for the second time at 13:15:46.

Banking, development bank, and other group posted a negative growth by 25.41 points, 0.66 points, and 29.37 points, respectively.

Similarly, hydropower, finance, insurance, and manufacturing group posted meager gain of 0.42 points, 1.11 points, 3.99 points, and 0.23 points, respectively.

The NEPSE transaction amount has also plunged to Rs. 101.3 million on Monday while the transaction on Sunday was Rs 152.9 million. Nepalnews.com
