The revenue collection has increased by 19.6 percent during the first 10 months of the fiscal year 2011/12 compared to the same period last fiscal year.
The government has mobilised Rs. 190.08 billion in revenue during the period.
The government has collected Rs 59.40 billion in VAT, Rs 39.35 billion in income tax, Rs 33.81 billion in custom duty, Rs 23.97 in excise duty, Rs 3.09 billion in registration fee, Rs 3.18 billion in vehicles tax and Rs 27.28 billion in non-tax sources.
The government has targeted to mobilise Rs. 241.77 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year.
So far, the revenue mobilisation is short of the target, however, the government is optimistic to meet the target within this remaining two months of the fiscal year, according to Finance Ministry. Nepalnews.com
