NEPSE gains slightly on last trading day

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 12.93 points to settle at 398.59 points on Thursday, the last trading day of this week.

As per the sub-indices of NEPSE, banking posted positive growth by 16.42 points, hotels 0.19 points, hydropower 10.09 points, finance 0.37 points, insurance 2.62 points and other group 24.67 points. However, development banks posted negative growth of 1.74 points.

The secondary market traded with 82 companies registering a turnover of Rs. 88.1 million through 1737 transactions today.

This week, the secondary market remained opened for all the five trading days. The index went down by 8 points to 408.6 points on Sunday, the first trading day this week.

The index had soared by some 5 points to 414 points on Monday and it again was on downward trend by 8 points to 406.08 points on Tuesday and posted a huge fall by 20.42 points to 385.66 points on the fourth trading day on Wednesday.

Last week, the index had closed with a double digit growth of 25.75 points to settle at 416.37 points on Thursday. nepalnews.com
