The price of the gold plunged by over Rs. 1,500 per tola (11.644 gm) on Friday.

The gold price had set a record high of Rs. 56,900 per tola in the domestic market on Wednesday, breaking the previous record of Rs. 56,800 per tola on Sunday, the first trading day, this week.

The precious yellow metal price had slightly declined by Rs. 250 to Rs. 56,650 per tola on Thursday while it further plunged down by Rs. 1,550 to Rs. 55,100 per tola on Friday.

The price of the precious yellow metal was in increasing trend in the domestic market following the rise in its price in the international market due to increasing dollar value in the international market.

The gold price had reached up to US$ 1,626 per ounce in the international market on Wednesday. nepalnews.com
