NEPSE posts marginal growth

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has increased by 2.07 points to settle at 377.48 points during the four trading days from Monday to Thursday last week.

The secondary market opened with 375.40 on Monday and slightly declined to 368.48 points on Tuesday while it posted marginal gain to rest at 373.75 points on Wednesday and 377.48 points on Thursday, the last trading day.

As per the sub-indices of all the groups, commercial bank, other group, hydropower, trade, and development bank groups posted positive growth of 0.80 points, 9.40 points, 11.19 points, 0.08 points and 1.13 points respectively.

Hotel posted negative by 0.67 points, insurance 0.95 points and finance 0.71 points while manufacturing group remained unchanged at 666.76 points.

During the four trading days, NEPSE traded with 103 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 173.13 million through 4395 transactions while it had 111 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 301.8 million through 7467 transactions the previous week.

Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 121.6 million which is 70.28 percent of the total turnover.

Bank of Kathmandu (Rs. 30.10 million), Chileme Hydropower Company (Rs. 20.07 million), Everest Bank (Rs. 11.77 million), Himalayan Bank (Rs. 10.814 million) and Nepal Industrial and Commercial Bank (Rs. 8.70 million) were the top five companies to witness the highest transaction last week. nepalnews.com
