The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said it will gain profit from sale of the petroleum products for the first time in three years from this month onwards.
As per the new price list sent by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the profit is projected to stand at Rs. 131 million this month. The profit was Rs. 3.31 billion in the fiscal year 2008/09.
However, the sole-oil monopoly said that the price of the petroleum products will not be slashed down due to its loans from the government, banks and other institutions.
As per the new price list, NOC will make profit of Rs. 15.35 per litre in petrol and Rs. 12.80 per litre in kerosene while it will incur a loss of Rs. 0.64 per litre in diesel and Rs. 359.63 per cylinder on cooking gas.
Similarly, it will make profit of Rs. 18.66 per litre in the sale of fuel for domestic purpose and Rs. 30.05 per litre in the international aviation. nepalnews.com
