Dhulikhel Festival 2010 on the occasion of 12th Harishiddhi Jatra concluded on Thursday with business of some Rs 40 million.

According to the organisers, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers Of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Dhulikhel Chamber of Commerce, about 100,000 visitors visited the festival.

The festival had 100 stalls exhibiting local home made products, handicrafts and other agricultural products, along with an additional 13 stalls by hotels and restaurants in Kavre.

The festival also featured arts and entertainment programs like cultural and historical dances, food festival as well as display of Newari culture.  Local club of Dhulikhel also exhibited historical pots from a thousand years back of the people of Harisiddhi.

Many visitors climbed the 100 steps up to Kalika Devi temple, which was also one of the attractions of the festival.

The organisers said Dhulikhel must be marketed as one of the promising tourist destinations for Nepal Tourism Year 2011 (NTY-2011). nepalnews.com
