Entrepreneurs and industrialists have demanded to expand the industrial areas in Butwal, national news agency reports.

The land covered by the areas is insufficient to set up the new industries, they said.

The area has spread in 434 ropanis of land where 56 industries are in operation, six are under construction and five are closed down at present.

Dairy products, construction materials, micro hydro plastics, PVC pipes and electric materials among others are being produced from the industries located inside the area.

The industrialists are forced to set up industries outside the area purchasing the land at high price due to the lack of free space inside the area, said the speakers of a programme organized on the occasion of 22nd anniversary of Industrial Area Management Ltd there recently.

Speaking at the same programme, acting chief district officer of Rupandehi Durga Prasad Pokhrel said the administration is committed to the security of the industrial area.

President of Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rajaj Alam stressed on the need to establish a new industrial area by implementing the government's policy of  privatization. nepalnews.com
