The government will give Rs 25 crore to the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to ease the supply of petroleum products in the country.

A Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar Tuesday evening decided to give the amount to the state-owned monopoly on supply of petroleum products which recently drew flak for hiking fuel prices following a shortage of petroleum products in the market.

The meeting also decided to transfer 24 government secretaries regional administrators in a major reshuffle of the bureaucracy Balananda Poudel has been transferred from Energy Ministry to Women and Children Ministry, Pratap Kumar Pantha has been transferred to General Administration, Purushottam Ojha and Jayamukunda Khanal have been transferred to  Prime Minister’s Office,  Som Lal Subedi to Ministry of Labour, Dinesh Hari Adhikari to Ministry of Land Reformation, Sushil Ghimire to Office of Auditor General, Madhav Regmi to Ministry of Defense, Navin Kumar Ghimire to Forest Ministry, Lal Mani Joshi to Supply Ministry, and Keshav Bhattarai to Ministry of Science & Technology.

Similarly, Abindra Shrestha has been transferred to Ministry of Information, Tana Gautam to Ministry of Culture, Pratap Kumar Pathak to Office of Auditor General, Yagya Prasad Gautam to Office of Public Procurement, Shri Ram Panta to National Information Commission, Shridhar Gautam to Office of Nepal Trust and Suresh Man Shrestha to National Vigilance Center.

The government has also transferred recently promoted secretaries. Hareram Koirala has been transferred to Ministry of Energy, Tilak Ram Sharma to Ministry of General Administration, Krishna Poudel as Regional Administrator (east), Arjun Bhandari as Regional Administrator (west), Gyan Darshan Udas as Acting Regional Administrator (mid-west) and Dharanidhar Khatiwada as Regional Administrator (centre).

The meeting also endorsed a 10-point work plan to lessen power outage and decided to clear 187.52 hector of forests for the construction of the 220 KV Hetauda-Bardibas transmission line. Nepalnews.com
