NC president Sushil KoiralaRival leaders of Nepali Congress- president Sushil Koirala and Sher Bahadur Deuba Thursday met in a bid to resolve their differences.

Deuba who had been refusing to hold talks with the party establishment and was campaigning to garner support from the cadres appeared hopeful of the dispute getting resolved within a week.

Sher Bahadur Deuba“The party president is positive about addressing the issues in a package. The dispute will be resolved within a week,” he said after the meeting with Koirala at the latter's residence.

He also said that the party unity will remain intact.

Deuba had resigned from party's Central Working Committee (CWC) opposing the CWC's decision to dissolve the central bodies of four of its sister organisations- Nepal Tarun Dal, Women’s Association, Indigenous Nationalities Association and Democracy Veterans Association on September 20. However, party president Koirala had refused to accept his resignation. nepalnews.com
