The government has started road expansion drive at Lazimpat area, Kathmandu, from Saturday where the locals had been obstructing the works since one month.

About half dozen houses including the wall of Standard Chartered Bank constructed illegally on both sides of the road were bulldozed with huge security presence today.

While bulldozing the houses, a minor clash had taken place between the locals and police. The locals have accused authorities that bulldozing the structures constructed after taking permission from the municipality was against the law.
