CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal has reiterated the demand for resignation of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to break the current political deadlock.

CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal“The government is pushing back peace process and constitution-writing process, so there is no alternative for PM Bhattarai's resignation to pave the way for national unity government,” UML chair Khanal said while talking to a group of journalists in Singha Durbar Tuesday morning.

He also said that the opposition parties would step up pressure for his resignation if he does not do so.

Trashing the call from the Maoist leadership to turn the current government into a government of national consensus, Khanal said make such efforts would only be waste of time.

Khanal also informed that a meeting of the three major parties to be held at Gorkarna Resort on Wednesday will  discuss a possible way out of the impasse. nepalnews.com
