Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has assured opposition- Nepali Congress and CPN-UML that the government will revoke its decision to legalise war-era land transactions to break existing political deadlock.

In the meeting of senior leaders of the major three parties- ruling UCPN (Maoist) and opposition- Nepali Congress and CPN-UML held at Gokarna Resort today, PM Bhattarai expressed his commitment to take back the controversial decision by calling cabinet meeting on Thursday, it is learnt.

The House proceeding which has been being obstructed by the opposition parties is expected to resume from tomorrow after the PM agreed to address their demands.

However, the hardliner faction of the Maoist party led by vice chairman Mohan Baidya still sticks to its stand that the decision should not be revoked. nepalnews.com
