The major three parties have decided to amend the constitution-drafting calender that would give them one more month to iron out the differences on issues related to the new constitution.
A meeting of the senior leaders of UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and UML held at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction Saturday afternoon decided to seek more time after the leaders could not come closer to to an agreement on the thorny issues like restructuring of the state, form of governance and the preamble.
Emerging from the meeting, NC general secretary Krishna Prasad Situala said, "We could not arrive at any agreement, so we have decided to ask the CA chairman for a period of one month."
As per the CA calendar, which was revised for the second time on January 29, the disputes should be settled by Sunday.
“We will reach conclusion after consulting the CA chairman,” said Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. nepalnews.com
