Seven political parties including main opposition Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have urged ruling UCPN (Maoist) to support to pass three separate bills presented in the parliament as soon as possible.

A meeting of the opposition parties called by the NC on Thursday at Singha Durbar urged the Maoist party to help pass the three bills- Mutual Legal Assistance Bill, Extradition Bill and Bill against Organised Crime to fight money laundering.

NC has been accusing the Maoist party that the government has removed six key offences related to organised crime from the Extradition Bill to protect tainted leaders of the Maoist party.

A meeting of the NC parliamentary party on Wednesday had demanded that extradition bill be passed as soon as possible by making amendments on some clauses.

The NC has been also accusing the UCPN (Maoist) of trying to prevent the bill from getting endorsed. nepalnews.com
