The meeting of dispute resolution Sub-Committee under the Constitutional Committee (CC) Sunday discussed disputed issues, mainly the form of the governance to be adopted in the new constitution.
Leaders said that the meeting ended with a positive note though no conclusion was reached on the issue. Talking to the reporters after the meeting, Sub-Committee coordinator and UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal DahalĀ expressed his confidence that the parties would reach an agreement on the mixed form of governance suggested by the Sub-Committee task force.
Nepali Congress vice chairman Ramchandra Poudel said that more discussions were needed to arrive at the consensus as the Maoist party has not suggested a clear model on the form of the governance.
The task force led by lawmaker Laxman Lal Karna has suggested mixed governance model where directly elected president and parliament-elected prime minister share executive rights. nepalnews.com
