Two more passengers, who were critically injured in Monday’s jeep mishap in Pyuthan district, died while receiving medical care in Kohalpur Medical college.

With this, the death toll in yesterday’s accident has reached five. Bashanta Khadka of Khalanga and another unidentified passenger breathed their last at the hospital Monday night.

Lal Bahadur Shrestha of Bijuli-3, Durga Bahadur Dhami of Dakhwadi-3 and Kamal Bhandari of Dhuwang-2 of the district had died on the spot when the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1668) heading to Bijuwar from Baraula turned turtle due to excessive speed. Police said the jeep was also carrying passengers beyond its capacity which could also have led to the accident

The condition of 10 of the 18 passengers hurt in the accident is said to be critical. They are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital in Pyuthan. nepalnews.com
