The central committee meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) scheduled to take place today at the party headquarters Paris Danda has been deferred to Tuesday after the hardliner Mohan Baidya faction refused to participate.
However, party chairman Dahal cited "lack of homework" for the reason to postpone the meeting, Maoist sources said.
Dahal had called the CC meeting as per the decision of a separate meeting of the central committee members loyal of the party establishment at Summit Hotel last week. The meeting had decided to discuss the internal rift and find a solution.
Baidya faction has said it is meaningless to organise the CC meeting without implementing the previous CC decisions. They also want Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to quit immediately. nepalnews.com
