Prime Minister Baburam BhattaraiPrime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Monday accused the CPN-UML of hindering the peace process by taking taking unnecessary stance on issues of army integration that were already agreed upon.

Issuing a press note, Prime Minister's personal secretariat took strong exception to the recent remarks of UML leaders that the PM was backtracking from the integration process.

“The PM is committed to conclude to peace process as soon as possible, but the army integration Special Committee has not been able to move forward due to unnecessary stance of UML representatives in the committee," PM's personal aide Bishwodeep Pandey said in a press note.

He further said, "The tendency to conduct integration as a regular recruitment without accepting the proposal being prepared by the Nepal Army the time of the UML-led government is obstructing the peace process."

Ishwor PokharelGeneral secretary Ishwor Pokharel and central leader Bhim Rawal represent the UML in the Special Committee.

"The motive behind the misleading publicity that the Prime Minister is backtracking from the peace process seems to be intended to cover-up the fact that the UML is going back on the previous agreement to give the responsibility to the government (Nepal Army) to carry out the integration." nepalnews.com
