The Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) of the ruling parties has decided to organise a broad debate with all the political parties and representatives of the civil society on September 4.

The first meeting of the UCPN (Maoist)-led alliance held at Maoist headquarters, Peris Danda, on Friday decided to hold the discussion "aiming to build trust" among the parties, particularly aiming to pacify the main opposition parties, Nepali Congress and the UML that have dismissed the alliance saying it could invite confrontation.

Spokesperson of the alliance Prem Bahadur Singh informed that all the parties including those not represented in the dissolved Constituent Assembly and the civil society representatives would be invited to the discussion.

Today's meeting also finalised a nine-member secretariat headed by UCPN (M) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who also heads the FDRA. The secretariat comprises spokesperson Singh, Laxman Lal Karna, Jitendra Dev, Rukimi Chaudhary, Malawar Singh Thapa, Bishwendra Paswan, Keshav Man Shakya and Sadrul Miya Haque. nepalnews.com
