Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has warned it will cut electricity supply to 20 ministries and some constitutional bodies if the electricity bill is not paid within 15 days.

Issuing a public notice Monday NEA has urged the ministries to pay the bills within 15 days.

According to the statement, the ministries and the constitutional bodies owe NEA Rs 662.4 million in total.

Most of the ministries have not paid the electricity bill since a long time, according to NEA.

According to NEA, the highest defaulters are the home ministry (Rs 175 million), the peace ministry (Rs 136 million) and the health ministry (Rs 152 million).

Interestingly, NEA's line ministry the energy ministry has not been mentioned in the list of defaulters. nepalnews.com
