The Tharuhat Tarai Party and eight other smaller parties have withdrawn the bandh (shutdown strike) jointly enforced by them since Wednesday in mid and far western regions in protest against the proposed extension of the Constituent Assembly's term.
The protesting outfits said they would picket the district administration offices as part of their protest instead of continuing with the bandh.
Mid and far western districts, especially the major towns, remained largely closed due to the bandh call since Wednesday. The Tharuhat and the smaller parties had enforced the bandh in the Kathmandu Valley as well but it failed to have any effect. nepalnews.com
