Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) Thursday said that the report of State Restructuring Commission (SRC) submitted to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai was anti-Madhes as it intends to divide Madhes.

Making public its official views in a press conference at parliamentary party office in Singhdurbar, the MJF said both of the reports on the restructuring of the state submitted by the majority and minority members of the SRC reflected conspiracy to divide Madhes.

Party chairman Upendra Yadav said that the reports even failed to address indigenous, oppressed and marginalised community.

“The report of the SRC has also neglected the agreement signed with the government in the past that Madhes will be an autonomous province,” the Madhesi leader added, “The report has also ignored the sacrifice of the martyrs.”

The SRC had submitted its report to the government, proposing 11-state federal model based on ethnicity and language on Tuesday. However, minority members had prepared a separate report proposing a six-state federal model based on geographical lines. nepalnews.com
