The committee for recommending names for the chief and members of the constitutional bodies has recommended six names for the chief commissioner and commissioners in the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

The committee led by  government’s chief secretary Madhav Ghimire Thursday submitted the names to the Constitutional Council.

According to office of the Prime Minister, the Committee has recommended former chief justice Ram Kumar Shreshta, former chief secretary Lokman Singh Karki,  incumbent CIAA secretary Bhagwati Kumar Kafle, former Armed Police Force chief Sanat Kumar Basnet, Baburam Acharya and Rajan Narayan Pathak  to fill the key vacancies at the CIAA.

The Committee is also preparing to recommend the names for other constitutional bodies also.

Some key positions in four constitutional bodies CIAA, Public Service Commission, Election Commission and the Office of the Auditor General remain vacant for years due to lack of consensus among the major parties. nepalnews.com
