Police on Friday seized equipment used for running illegal Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) racket from Mahadevsthan and Balkhu of Kathamdnu and also arrested a Bangladeshi national.
Over 1000 SIM cards of Ncell, Nepal Telecom and United Telecom along with other equipment including power generator used for call bypassing were seized.
Bangladhesi national Ahmad who ran the call bypass operations from two places was arrested during the raid.
Police have arrested 86 persons including 16 foreigners on VOIP call bypass charges within a year.
Bangladeshi citizen Rubel Chaudhury, who is the son -in- law of Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala, had 'fled' Nepal after he was found to have involved in the similar illegal VOIP operation last year. nepalnews.com
