Transportation services to and from Dhaulagiri zone remained closed for the second day on Wednesday due to a strike called by the transporters.
Bus and jeep services between Parbat, Baglung and Myagdi as well the long route services have been obstructed, leaving hundreds of commuters stranded in the district headquarters and Pokhara.
The Dhaulagiri Transporters Association called the strike to protest the registration of a similar syndicate in Burtibang of Baglung.
The association has said the strike would not be withdrawn until the local administration scrapped the registration of Burtibang Transport Association. According to the protesting transporters, the new syndicate has threatened their business. nepalnews.com
