Former King Gyanendra has said that he "will always remain committed to defending nationality, national integrity and democracy".
In a greeting message issued on the eve of the 62nd Democracy Day on Saturday, Gyanendra said in order to consolidate democracy broad thinking is necessary on all aspects - political, social, economic and cultural. He also maintained that "disintegration, digression, enmity and revolt will not make the path of democracy any easier".
"Democracy will not exist if the nation does not remain independent," the ex-King who is currently in India stated. nepalnews.com
