A meeting of the major three political parties- UCPN (Maoist), Nepali congress and CPN-UML held Saturday to iron out the differences seen in the peace process and constitution drafting ended inconclusively.
The meeting held at Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj this morning briefly discussed the issue of the Maoist combatants’ integration. The meeting , however did not discuss the disputed issues to be incorporated in the new constitution.
UML leader Bhim Rawal said that the meeting could not reach conclusion as the NC and UML refused UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s proposal to give high rank to the combatants in the proposed directorate through political decision while integrating them.
However, the leaders agreed to hold continuous discussions to iron out the differences.
Their next meeting is scheduled to take place at 8.00 am on Sunday at UML chairman’s Jhala Nath Khanal’s residence in Dallu. nepalnews.com
