The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Legislature Parliament on Wednesday decided to seek clarification from top leaders of major political parties – NC, UML and UCPN (Maoist) - regarding their inability to forge consensus and resolve the contentious issues seen in constitution drafting through the Constitutional Committee (CC).
A parliamentary panel decided to summon the parliamentary party leaders and chief whips of the three major parties and representative from United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) to furnish the progress made by the CC till now and the explain why it has failed to forge consensus on contentious issues despite repeated extension of its term.
