A group of assailants has launched a deadly attack on a journalist in Dang on Saturday night.

A group consisting of 10-12 persons had assaulted Bhanubhakta Basnet, a journalist working for Radio Swargadwari, nearby Kathekal, Ghorahi last night, according to state-owned news agency RSS.

The group had attacked him while he was on the way to radio from home last night. Basnet, who sustained deep injuries to his head in the attack, is being treated at Rapti sub-regional hospital in Ghorahi.

Basnet had immediately informed the police about the deadly attack on him after the clutch of criminals escaped. However, the police are yet to arrest the guilty.
