At least 23 persons were hurt, two seriously, when a mini-truck carrying wedding procession met with an accident in Saptari district on Tuesday.

The accident occurred when the mini-truck (Ko 1 Kha 3543) heading for Bhagwatpur from Maleth-3 skidded off the road at Pharseth-7 after the driver lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed, police said.

The injured are receiving treatment at local hospital and some are reported to have been reached home after receiving minor medical attention.

Among the injured, the condition of two - Dhurba Kumar Mandal of Bhagawatpur-9 and Tek Narayan Yadav of Bishariya-5 - is serious. They have been rushed to Dharan for medical treatment. nepalnews.com
