Nursing student Shristi crowned Miss Nepal 2012

Tall and elegant Shristi Shrestha, 23, has been crowned Miss Nepal 2012, in a much-awaited annual event held at the Hotel Annapurna in the capital on Sunday evening.

The beautiful nursing student standing 5'9" beat out 15 other finalists to win the coveted crown in the glamorous event.

Similarly, Nagma Shrestha was crowned the first runner up while Subeksha Khadka was the second runner up.

The new Miss Nepal was also declared "Miss Confident" and "Miss Beautiful Smile" while stunning Poonam Chand grabbed the "Miss Popular Choice" title.

Outgoing Miss Nepal 2011 Malina Joshi passed her title of Miss Nepal crown to a beaming Shristi while Anupama Aura Gurung handed her title of Miss Nepal Earth to Nagma and Sarina Maskey passed her title of Miss Nepal International to Subeksha.

The annual beauty contest was organised by Hidden Treasure.

Miss Nepal 2012 will also be a goodwill ambassador for World Wildlife Fund for Nature, Nepal. nepalnews.com
