Academic and administrative activities have been halted in 60 constituent campuses and four research centers of the Tribhuvan University due to the strike called by Tribhuvan University Teachers’ Association.
The Association announced shutdown in TU and its constituent campuses for two days- Thursday and Friday accusing the government of turning a deaf ear to its demands including pay hike.
The Association has put forth 22-point demands including pay hike, uniform allowances and permanent status to all the temporary TU teachers, among other.
On Wednesday, Association representatives had apprised Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai about their demands.
The temporary teachers have also warned of further protest if their demands are not fulfilled. nepalnews.com
