NHRC urges govt to provide relief aids to flood, pandemic victims

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to take necessary measures to minimise the impacts of natural disaster as the floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall and outbreak of dysentery claims many lives in various parts of the country.

Writing a letter to the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Minister, NHRC chairman Kedar Nath Upadhyaya urged the government to provide relief aids to the flood victims and manage medical treatment to the people suffering from dysentery in various parts of the country.

The NHRC chairman also drew attention of the Prime Minster towards insufficient delivery of the medical aids to the flood victims in various districts including Dang, Banke, Kailali, Bajura, Darchula, Manang and Kapilvastu.

At least 10 people have been killed in the different parts of the country in landslides and floods triggered by incessant rainfall since Thursday. The floods have inundated several houses leaving hundreds of families homeless while any people are suffering from dysentery. nepalnews.com
