At least six people have died when a passenger bus they were travelling in met with an accident at Arunkhela forest section along the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi district.

The accident occurred when the bus (Na 4 Kha 1092) collided head on with an Indian truck (UP 53 BT 93 87) coming from the opposite direction.

Four passengers in the bus died on the spot while two more died while receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan, according to Area Police Office, Kawasoti.  However, the deceased have not been identified yet.

Among those hurt, four are receiving treatment at Medical College, Bharatpur while 38 others are getting primary medical care at Manakamana Medical Hall in Arun Khola.
