Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kuber Singh Rana assumed office on Friday.
Home Secretary Nabin Kumar Ghimire conferred insignia on the 23rd IGP Rana amid a ceremony at the Home Ministry, Singha Durbar, this afternoon.
The government had appointed Rana as the Inspector General of Nepal Police on Thursday. Rana, who replace Rabindra Pratap Shah, was the most senior Additional Inspector General (AIG).
His appointment to the top post in the Nepal Police comes after protracted dispute between Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Gachchhadar. nepalnews.com
