Services at Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara have been disrupted due to tensions between doctors and relatives of a patient, Monday, Avenues TV reported.
The doctors and the hospital staff have closed all services at the hospital after kins of a victim who 'ran away' from the hospital assaulted the doctors. The kins assaulted the doctors saying the doctors were responsible for helping the girl run away.
One Ava Subba of Dharan was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital five days ago after she consumed poison over a failed love affair. She suddenly went missing from the ICU Sunday.
Subba's relatives assaulted Subash Sapkota, a doctor involved in the treatment, accusing him of helping the girl run away from the hospital. The doctors and the hospital staffers, in turn, have accused the kin of the patient of helping her run away with a motive of not paying the hospital bills.
Hundreds of patients at the hospital have been affected after the doctors and hospital staff refused to provide any service in protest of the assault. nepalnews.com Jun 29 09
